I built a Porsche 959 Replica

In 1987 Porsche created the Porsche 959, their first four wheel drive supercar, capable of just over 200 mph and selling for £149,000. Back then the car market was insane, there were waiting lists, you could double or treble you money before taking delivery of the cars. Order the car for £149,000, it would be worth £400,000 before it got delivered.

There was also a big copy business, I was seeing rough 911's with a 959 body kit thrown on selling for £45k. I bought a left hand drive 1974 911, for £7k put a kit on it for £15k including £4k for hand built wheels and special order tyres, oh and a personalised number plate "959 abc" for £1k. Job done. It looked exactly like the £400k car. Just like the one below.
